הבן מויש (Moish) מספר: Before the poem, she said: "In 1951 Moshav Shafir celebrated Yom Haatzmaut outdoors, in the small square in front of shul. They asked me to make a speech. I was worried as inspiration didn't come to me. Then in the middle of one night, it all came. I got up, I didn't want to wake dad, so I sat in the corner of the room, and lit the kerosene lamp as low as possible, to illuminate only what I was writing. The head of Shafir was a man called Chavash. He and others made speeches, and I recited my poem. I can't recall it all, but what I do recall is accurate".
